Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Kanye West, Single Motherhood, and Life After Divorce

In the October 15 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kim Kardashian spoke candidly about some of the most personal aspects of her life, including her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West, experiences with infidelity, and the challenges of raising four children as a single mother.

Addressing Rumors and Past Controversies

During a segment called “Confessor Text,” Kardashian was asked a series of sensitive questions and had the option to either answer them or send a pre-written text message to a family member.

One topic she refused to discuss was her rumored relationship with former NFL star Tom Brady, choosing instead to avoid the question altogether.

Kardashian also firmly denied longstanding rumors that she had ever been romantically involved with Travis Barker, who is now married to her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. She explained that they had always been friends and part of the same social circle but were never involved romantically.

The reality star also reflected on a photoshoot she once did with Justin Bieber when he was 16 years old. Looking back, Kardashian admitted that the concept, inspired by the film The Graduate, now feels questionable given the age difference, even though nothing inappropriate occurred during the shoot.

Reflecting on Her Marriage to Kanye West

Kardashian revealed that one of the qualities that initially attracted her to Kanye West was his intelligence, creativity, and larger-than-life personality.

According to her, the early years of their relationship were filled with excitement, learning experiences, and ambitious ideas. However, as time went on, challenges related to mental health and personal differences began to affect the marriage.

She explained that when someone experiences a mental health crisis, loved ones naturally want to support them and help them improve. However, maintaining a healthy relationship becomes increasingly difficult if meaningful changes are not being made.

“When someone isn’t willing to make changes that could be healthy and beneficial, it becomes very hard to continue in a relationship that can become toxic.”

Why Leaving Was So Difficult

Kardashian emphasized that having children made the decision to leave the marriage significantly harder.

She explained that divorce affects not only the couple but also the entire family, especially the children. As a result, she spent considerable time hoping circumstances would improve before ultimately deciding to move forward.

“When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than it is to stay. It changes everyone’s life forever.”

She added that protecting her own mental health became essential, as she wanted to remain fully present and capable as a mother.

Feeling Unsafe in the Relationship

During the interview, Kardashian described feeling emotionally unsettled at times due to unpredictability within the relationship.

She recalled situations in which major financial decisions were made without her knowledge, including instances where luxury cars were reportedly given away unexpectedly.

According to Kardashian, the uncertainty left her feeling as though she never knew what she would wake up to the next day.

“I never knew what I was going to get when I woke up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling.”

Opening Up About Being Cheated On

The SKIMS founder also revealed that she has experienced infidelity in past relationships.

Rather than reacting with immediate anger, she said she initially wanted to understand the situation and hear the full story. However, she admitted that when she was younger, she often handled similar situations much more emotionally and would directly confront the other person involved.

Co-Parenting With Kanye West

Kardashian pushed back against claims that she prevents Kanye West from seeing their children.

She stated that she has never denied him access to the kids and explained that he is free to contact them whenever he chooses. While co-parenting can be challenging, she said her primary focus remains providing stability, structure, and happiness for her children.

The Challenges of Single Motherhood

As a mother of four, Kardashian acknowledged that raising children on her own comes with significant responsibilities, especially under constant public scrutiny.

She encouraged people to show more compassion toward single parents and avoid harsh judgments, noting that parenting often involves learning through trial and error.

“I’m doing the best that I can, and my babies are good babies. I just urge everyone to have grace for single moms trying to figure it all out.”

Awaiting Her Bar Exam Results

In addition to discussing her personal life, Kardashian revealed that she recently sat for the bar exam after dedicating four months exclusively to studying.

She is currently awaiting the results, which are expected to be released in November, and expressed optimism about her chances of passing.
