The McBees are gearing up for some big changes as they try to put family above all.

PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the trailer for season 2 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, and things are starting to look a little different on the ranch. Amid an FBI investigation into Steven Sr., the McBee Farm and Cattle patriarch, his sons must work to keep their empire from crumbling while navigating their own personal challenges.

“The stakes couldn’t be higher as eldest brother Steven Jr. has been left in charge of the McBee family farm and the race is on during harvest season to save it from being foreclosed,” the official logline reads. “With Steven’s relationship with Calah on the rocks, Jesse’s anxiety around marrying Alli and Cole buckling under the pressure of becoming a father with pregnant girlfriend Kacie, these young men find themselves attempting to salvage their relationships and save the farm at the same time.”

The trailer opens with Steven Jr. declaring that “my loyalty lies with my family and on this farm and ranch.” He then adds, “I would defend that to the day I die.”

The McBee family is preparing to expand as Jesse’s wedding to Alli looms. This gives Steven Jr. pause about how the marriage could impact their family, as he says, “If there’s not a prenup, you can’t have your name on the farm.”

The family is already “in a bind,” as Steven Jr. later points out, due to a $100 million deal with a venture capital firm falling through. “We need $6 million to pay payments,” he adds.

While Steven Jr. anticipates the farm’s upcoming $6 million payment, his girlfriend Calah — whom he met on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer — is left “feeling like an outsider” in the McBee family. She is even seen telling one McBee family member that she’s learned they “hate” me, though she gets called out for allegedly calling Cole and Jesse “hillbillies.”

And Steven Jr. doesn’t appear to stand for that, as he’s shown telling a crying Calah, “You are the most pessimistic person to ever speak about my family.”

The “drama,” as one notes, really takes a toll on the McBee brothers.

“I’m starting to question if us parting ways may be the right decision,” says Steven Jr.

Then, as the trailer nears a close, the elephant in the room drops as the McBees address Steven Sr.’s headline-making FBI investigation. In November 2024, Steven Sr. pleaded guilty in a multi-million dollar crop insurance fraud case. He had waived his right to a grand jury and pleaded guilty to a fraud scheme involving the receipt of federal crop insurance benefits that he was allegedly not authorized to receive.

“We’ve got a problem,” Steven Jr. tells his brothers. “We’ve been under FBI investigation, and there may be prison time involved.”
