As the latest season of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys heats up, the question of whether audiences will see patriarch Steve McBee Sr. on the show has finally been answered, at least sort of. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 2 is focused on the McBee brothers now that their dad is awaiting sentencing on a multi-million-dollar crop insurance fraud case.

Despite not appearing physically on the show, Steve Sr.’s presence is felt as the McBee boys scurry to clean up their father’s messes and save their family business. Steve Sr. has appeared on the show via flashbacks and telephone calls, but his eldest son, Steven McBee Jr., recently revealed whether Steve Sr. will be on camera.

Steven Jr. opened up to Andy Cohen about whether his dad will be featured on the show soon.

Bravo reported that Steven Jr. told Andy Cohen during a Watch What Happens Live! appearance that audiences have to “keep watching” to see whether his dad is featured.

While The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 1 aired on Peacock, for season 2, the family brought their chaotic reality show to Bravo, which means a wider audience is finding the show.

While the drama playing out on-screen is exciting, it’s the off-screen events unfolding that are really of interest. Steve Sr. is facing serious jail time after pleading guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud, which cost the government over $4 million. As a result, Steve Sr. is facing 30 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in September.

Until then, Steve Sr. is not appearing on his family’s reality show in person. Instead, he appears as a voice on the phone or in flashbacks, since he is still very much part of the drama his family faces. Steve Sr.’s messy love life impacted the family and the business, and that has continued, despite him not appearing.

Our Take On Steven Jr. Teasing Steve Sr.’s Return
Steven Jr. Didn’t Give A Definitive Answer

Steven Jr.’s words on Watch What Happens Live! about whether his father will appear in season 2 weren’t definitive. Steven Jr. said Steve Sr. “might” show up on screen as the season progresses.

Since Steve Sr. is a major part of the show, audiences would be thrilled to see him back, so Steven Jr. is smart to tease that he may appear to keep viewer interest high.

The McBee family has proven that even without their dad on-screen, they can still provide a hit TV show, but if Steve Sr. eventually does serve prison time, it’s unclear whether the family would be able to maintain their show. We’ll just have to keep watching, like Steven Jr. said.
