Steven Jr. Makes a Shocking Confession About FBI Investigation in Hot Mic Moment
Steven McBee Jr. didn’t “know what to do” when Galyna Saltkovska brought up his father’s legal issues on camera.
When Galyna Saltkovska mentioned an “FBI investigation” to Steven McBee Jr. on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, he immediately shut down the on-camera discussion and summoned her to his office for a closed-door one-on-one.
Little did he know, however, a hot mic was still recording audio of their conversation.
The off-limits topic arose on Season 2, Episode 3, during a heated confrontation between the two, during which Steven Jr. questioned if he should fire Galyna, who is the McBee Farm & Cattle Co.’s CFO. He cited her refusal to answer his calls for several days amid “relationship problems” with his father (and her ex), Steven McBee Sr., and potentially jeopardizing a lucrative business deal — with just six weeks remaining to make a $6 million payment to keep the company running.
Behind closed doors, viewers could hear Steven Jr. cursing, before telling Galyna, “I’m sorry for going off on you, but I’ve never dealt with this before. My dad is under an FBI Investigation. And you are the only one, and my mom, that even know this was going on. So, it has to stay between us.”
She assured him that “it won’t happen again,” though, and repeated “I got your back” twice, before exiting and re-closing the door behind her.
Still off camera in his office, Steven Jr. called his mother, Kristi McBee, telling her he didn’t “know what to do” in the moment. “Galyna just about outed Dad’s situation to everyone here at the office,” he said, adding that he had “no idea” if administrative assistant Cara heard her or not.

During a confessional scene, a producer informed Steven Jr. that they had heard what he said to Galyna in his office, to which he responded, “I don’t want to talk about that. F–k. This is hard.”
He noted that Galyna is the CFO, but “more importantly,” she’s also a 10 percent owner in all of the McBee family’s companies. “She’s got so much leverage over us right now,” he added. “She’s got us good.”
Steven Jr. went on to reveal, however, that “this FBI investigation is wearing on my dad,” whom he said “didn’t want anything with his involvement [to] affect us boys,” referencing brothers Cole McBee and Jesse McBee.
“My brothers don’t even know about it,” he continued. “I don’t know if my dad’s gonna be in prison this time next year. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
After the producer asked where they “go from here,” he simply replied, “I honestly have no f–king clue.”
What was Steven McBee Sr. under FBI investigation for?
Steven Sr. pleaded guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud in November 2024. By pleading guilty in federal court, Steven “admitted that he engaged in fraudulent activity from 2018 to 2020 that caused an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,” according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri.
Steven had reportedly submitted fraudulent documents underreporting his corn crop and soybean crop totals in 2018, resulting in him receiving more than a combined $3 million in federal crop insurance subsidies and federal crop insurance premium subsidies.
He now faces a sentence of up to 30 years in federal prison without parole and owes the government more than $3 million. Steven’s sentencing will be held on September 9, 2025, according to DTN.
