Resident Alien Season 4 Finally Fixes Its Worst Story
Resident Alien Season 4 Finally Fixes Its Worst Story
Resident Alien season 4 has a multitude of storylines happening at the same time, and, with episode 5, it just managed to fix its worst one. Resident Alien season 4’s focus is on Harry adjusting to his life as a human after the Greys stole his alien powers. Other Resident Alien characters have their own storylines tied into extraterrestrial events.
Some of these stories stand alone, such as Liv taking care of Peter after the end of Resident Alien season 3 and Ben and Kate investigating what really happened to their baby. However, there’s one character storyline in season 4 that has been disappointing for the last few episodes, despite initially having a strong start.
D’Arcy’s Storyline In Resident Alien Season 4 Has Been Lacking Depth
The most lackluster storyline in Resident Alien season 4 has been D’Arcy’s. Initially, her role in the latest episodes was incredibly important, since she was caring for Daisy, Ben and Kate’s child, to ensure the Greys didn’t discover her location. However, she eventually gave her to Asta’s cousin, Kayla, despite still feeling a maternal connection toward her.
Following this, her storyline hasn’t had much in the way of major development. She’s contributed to the story, such as joining Harry in the past during his time travel mission. But, in terms of her personal story, it’s mostly focused on her attempts to keep Ben and Kate from learning the truth about their daughter, which has grown circular already.
Her latest story in Resident Alien season 4, episode 5 had nothing to do with the larger story at play, either. In the episode, she decides she wants to adopt a dog, but is refused. She ends up trying to break into the shelter, but eventually decides against it. Luckily, her spiral ends up bolstering her story by the end.
D’Arcy’s Big Season 4, Episode 5 Mistake Can Make Her Story More Interesting
During the episode, Asta begins working at the diner while Dan leaves Resident Alien temporarily to pursue an opportunity with his band. She trusts D’Arcy to deposit the diner’s earnings at the bank, something she intends to do. However, she accidentally gets blackout drunk at the bar and loses all the money Asta trusted her with.
This major development finally gives D’Arcy’s storyline some depth beyond Daisy, while adding a new rift in her and Asta’s friendship. Harry also vanished at the end of season 4, episode 5, putting Asta under even more stress. D’Arcy’s story tying into this could put a strain on their relationship unlike anything the show’s depicted before.
Now that D’Arcy’s made such a massive mistake, Resident Alien can reckon with the consequences. Since this could easily separate her and Asta from one another because of just how important her job had been, it’s possible this becomes an anchor for her story as rest of the season plays out.
