‘McBee Dynasty’ Season 2 Puts This ‘Joe Millionaire’ Couple to the Ultimate Test
'McBee Dynasty' Season 2 Puts This ‘Joe Millionaire’ Couple to the Ultimate Test
After wrangling viewers with its Succession-meets-small-town-farm energy, The McBee Dynasty is saddling up for Season 2, this time on Bravo. The first season gave us a front-row seat to the chaos and clout behind Missouri’s McBee Farm and Cattle Company, and if the Bravolebrity Watch Along reactions were any indication, this family is custom-built for reality TV greatness. In short: the drama is just getting started.
But the McBee family tree is already shedding a few limbs. Patriarch Steve McBee Sr. will not be part of the action due to his legal woes. That leaves his son, Steven McBee Jr., to take the reins, both on the ranch and in front of the cameras. Returning alongside him is his girlfriend, Calah Jackson, who fans may remember for more than just farm life. Long before they were fielding cattle and family feuds, Steven and Calah were fielding roses and reality-TV romance on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, the very show where their love story began.
Steven and Calah’s Relationship Began on ‘Joe Millionaire’
In 2003, FOX launched a Bachelor-inspired reality show called Joe Millionaire, in which a house of single women vied for the attention of an eligible bachelor. The catch? He was not wealthy, but instead a working-class average Joe. Two decades later, the show returned in revival form with a twist. The reboot would have two bachelors, one a millionaire, the other not. In 2022, Steven was the “rich” suitor on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, ultimately selecting Calah to be his winner. As for Kurt Sowers, the other bachelor? Well, he made a cameo during the McBee bros’ trip to Nashville during Season 1.

One of the biggest obstacles that the couple faced was the farm. Calah wasn’t entirely sold on the idea of life on the farm, while it literally is what Steven lives for. It’s his family business. With that hanging over their heads, it had caused them a litany of woe before the cameras began rolling for the freshman season of McBee Dynasty. The couple has had their ups and downs, occasionally breaking up. In that off period, he dated another Joe Millionaire contestant, Annie Jorgensen. In the end, it was Calah all along.
Rarely do we get to follow the results of a dating show couple, but The McBee Dynasty is giving viewers insight into two reality TV show stars who met on screen, trying to work their way to the altar. Let’s just say, it’s not easy for Calah to fit into the McBee family, and Steven and his family don’t help the cause. Steve Sr. seemingly has a dislike of all of his sons’ girlfriends, but he’s got it particularly out for Calah. Why? She won’t let Steven answer the phone at 4 or 5 o’clock at night. One might think it’s family first on the farm, but it’s far from that. It’s all about the money! Just ask Steve McBee Sr, who pleaded guilty to crop insurance fraud and will be unlikely to appear on Season 2. Nevertheless, Season 2 will focus heavily on Steven Jr. taking over the business and how Calah fits into the big picture.

Where Does ‘McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys’ Go In Season 2?
As Season 1 came to a close, there was a lot of uncertainty about where McBee Farm would be heading. With the major deal necessary for keeping them afloat falling through, Steve Sr. stepped back and gave Steven Jr. the keys to the farm. But not every sibling is happy to watch their brother, jokingly known as “Speedsheet Steve,” take control when he doesn’t put in the same hard labor they do. But in the end, it was their father’s decision. A decision that will greatly impact everyone.
The Season 2 trailer is proving a lot of change is coming to the farm. With Steve Sr. out of the picture, turmoil will be brewing. Steven and Calah are reeling over new relationship woes. Jesse McBee is heading down the aisle to marry Alli Ventresca. Cole McBee’s girlfriend Kacie Adkison is pregnant. With Daddy gone, Mom is returning to keep the family together. Yes, the only-mentioned Kristi McBee is coming to the farm. And she’s eager to go confront the woman she blames for ripping the family apart. As if that drama wasn’t enough, CFO Galyna Saltkovska is dealing with the romantic rejection of her boss, who has seemingly moved on with another woman. A tiger, indeed, doesn’t change its stripes. It’s safe to say Bravo might be the right fit for McBee Dynasty!
McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is available to stream on Peacock.
