The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys fans noticed a wild on-screen slip-up during amid patriarch Steve McBee Sr.’s fraud conviction. The McBee Dynasty season 2 is currently airing, but this peculiar and talked-about moment happened in season 1.
The McBees own and operate McBee Farm & Cattle Co. in Gallatin, Missouri, and scandal broke for Steve Sr. after season 1 as he pleaded guilty to crop insurance fraud and faces up to 30 years without parole. He will be sentenced September 9, 2025. Steve has been noticeably absent from McBee Dynasty season 2 entirely as his legal issues play out in real time.
Steve Sr. was the culprit yet again in the suspect moment caught on camera. During a party for “den mother” Tessa Lollar, Steve Sr. was behind the grill cooking up burgers and hot dogs, and fans noticed that he was using burgers from Target, and the McBees don’t supply to Target.
At the very least, the Target burgers were not a good look for Steve Sr., because it brings up the issue of why wouldn’t he be using his own product as negative speculation about his character and image circulates.

They’re Being Further Discredited
The McBees have not been presenting themselves well on-screen and in the media, and the BBQ meat product slip-up is icing on the cake. Maybe it was a lapse in judgment, but regardless, it sends the wrong message. Steve McBee is already discredited, but since the whole McBee family represents their cattle business, it’s not a good look for any of them.
It’s possible that there could be a redemption BBQ in The McBee Dynasty in season 2 where the family can use their own product, but for now, the McBees are further exposed.
