The Chicago Bears may have found two hidden gems in undrafted free agency, and early reports suggest that offensive linemen Jaren Kump and Kaden Barnett are making a strong impression during offseason workouts.

While much of the attention has focused on Chicago’s high-profile additions and draft picks, these two rookies are quietly proving that they belong in the NFL conversation.

Jaren Kump: Size, Versatility, and Leadership

Former Utah standout Jaren Kump brings an impressive combination of size and experience to the Bears. Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 315 pounds, Kump is unusually large for a center and possesses the versatility to play every position along the offensive line.

Another player generating excitement is former Wyoming lineman Kaden Barnett, nicknamed the “Vanilla Gorilla.” At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Barnett brings power and physicality to Chicago’s offensive line room.

During his final college season, Barnett played 792 snaps and allowed just one sack. He demonstrated solid pass protection and showed the ability to create running lanes with his strength and technique.

Barnett’s athletic testing also impressed scouts, particularly his short-area quickness for a player of his size. His ability to play both guard and center increases his value as a developmental prospect.

The Bears reportedly invested significant guaranteed money to sign Barnett as an undrafted free agent, a sign that the organization believes he has long-term potential. Although he still needs to improve his lateral movement and maintain leverage more consistently, coaches believe those areas can be developed.
