Steven McBee Jr. Gets ‘Misty-Eyed’ While Sharing Holiday Update From Dad Steve in Prison
he McBee Dynasty’s Steven McBee Jr. got a little teary-eyed while sharing a holiday update from his dad, Steven “Steve” McBee Sr., who is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for crop insurance fraud.
“I talked to my dad last night. He wanted to make sure that we posted a video saying Merry Christmas to y’all. Happy holidays. Have a Happy New Year,” Steven, 32, said in a video shared via Steve’s Instagram account on Tuesday, December 30. “He is doing well, doing just fine. In fact, he wanted me to just tell y’all how appreciative he is for all of the letters that he has received.”
Steven added that Steve, 53, is planning to write back to “each and every letter” he has received while behind bars. He also read a particularly sweet letter from an elementary school student named Aria.
“‘In our letter,’ she said, ‘I drew this art. I drew this card in art class before we moved to our new house. My teacher made it into a card. Isn’t that cool?’” Steven said, tearing up as he read the next part of the letter. “I’m sorry you have to be away from your family. I know how sad it is to have to start over and make new friends, but hang in there. You’ll be OK, and you can do it.”

The letter also included a note from Aria’s mother, Casey.
“We know it must be hard being away from your loved ones and your precious granddaughters this time of year,” she wrote. “So we wanted to send you some holiday cheer and wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season from two fans of your family and show.”
Steven continued, “My dad wanted Aria and Casey to know that he’s doing well and making new friends, and to let you know that the Christmas card Aria drew was his absolute favorite, and he has it taped to his locker door. … So anyways, guys, thank you all so much. Just wanted to hop on here and give a little update on Dad. He’s doing good. And from all of us here at the farm, all of us McBees, Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Thank you guys so so much for all of your love and support. Means the world to us.”

Steven McBee Jr. Admits Dad Steve McBee’s Legal Scandal Has Been a ‘Scarlet Letter’ for Their Family
In November 2024, Steve pleaded guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud for engaging in fraudulent activity from 2018 to 2020 that caused an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was sentenced to 24 months in prison in October. Steve was also ordered an additional two years on supervised release and must pay $4,022,124 in restitution, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
“The number of messages I have received touches my heart beyond measure that words could express. But the truth of the matter is, I’m the one who’s lucky,” Steve wrote via his Instagram Stories after his sentencing. “Lucky to have been able to spend time with so many high character young people and they were the ones that made me a better human not the other way around. I count my blessings every day for my family and the support they give me and for my extended family that continues to grow each and every day. This too shall pass…”
Steve rose to fame in early 2024 when he and his family made their reality TV debut on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys. The first season followed the former McBee Farm & Cattle CEO and his four sons — Steven, Jesse McBee, Cole McBee and Brayden McBee — as they ran their farm and cattle company in Gallatin, Missouri.
