‘The McBee Dynasty’: Why Calah Says Watching Season 2 Back Changed Everything

The McBee Dynasty Stars Steven McBee and Calah Jackson

The drama on “The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” isn’t just about the cattle—it’s also about the love lives. Calah Jackson, who met Steven McBee back in 2021 on “Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer,” recently confirmed that their romance officially ended during the filming of season 2. Now, as the episodes play out on Bravo, she’s opening up about what really went down—and why she’s happier than ever today.

Calah’s Breakup Played Out on ‘The McBee Dynasty’ Season 2

While promoting season 2, Jackson admitted to Us Weekly that watching her relationship back has been unexpectedly eye-opening.

“It’s very different being in the relationship vs. being out,” she explained. “I think I lost a lot of myself in that relationship.”

Looking back on her time with Steven, the McBee Farm & Cattle CEO, Jackson confessed that reliving the moments on screen has forced her to reevaluate. “Maybe it’s a good thing that I’m able to watch it back on TV, because it really is just so eye-opening for me. I’m like, ‘Oh, why did I put up with this?’ Or, like, ‘I cannot believe I reacted that way to this.’”

The pair briefly reunited for a press shoot in Los Angeles, but she made it clear the spark was gone. “It was fine. It was cordial,” she said. “I mean, we showed up and we did press and we didn’t kill each other,” she added with a laugh.

Moving On From the Steven McBee and the Family Farm

Though fans will still see the pair’s dynamic play out in season 2, Jackson insists it’s firmly behind her.

“I did love the farm life. People don’t think I did, but I’ve truly loved [it], and I really felt like that was my home and I made it my home,” she revealed. “So, that’s the one thing I miss.”

What she doesn’t miss? The chaos. “The drama or the pressure of the antics” she experienced while living with McBee made her realize it was time to move on.

Now settled back in Dallas, Jackson is focused on herself. “I’ve been focusing on myself and just trying to get back to a really good mental place,” she said. “And honestly, I’m, like, the happiest I’ve been in a really long time. So, things are going really well right now.”

When asked about a possible reconciliation. “I don’t want to be too negative about it. I don’t regret anything, but I don’t know,” Jackson said.

“Let’s just say that I’m not gonna regret my decisions. It was a good relationship for a long time, until it wasn’t. I learned a lot of lessons. That’s how I’ll leave it.”

Fans can catch Jackson—and all the cowboy drama—on “The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys,” airing Mondays on Bravo.
