Her unexplained absence eventually put a potentially lucrative deal with a popular Kansas City barbeque joint in jeopardy, and, coupled with her admittedly “breaking into” Steven Sr.’s home to damage his and Masha’s property, Steven ultimately felt backed into a corner when Galyna eventually returned to the office at the end of the July 14 episode.
“Our actual business is going to hell in a handbasket,” he told her. “Like, what is going on? Are you gonna be able to continue? At this point, I’m starting to question…”
Galyna, for her part, responded by telling Steven Jr. maybe he “should start questioning” his father and how his action got her “to that point.” In a confessional, she elaborated that Steven Sr. made her feel “disposable” and that she was “extremely heartbroken” by him now dating her former “best friend.”
Back at work, she told Steven Jr., “I am entitled to a recovery period, whether it’s two days or three days,” before pointing out, “I’m not just a f–king CFO.”
He fired back, “I don’t think you can handle this anymore. Do you even want to be here? Because at this point, I’m starting to question if us parting ways may be the right decision,” prompting Galyna to accuse him of punching “below the waist.”
“You know how loyal and how committed I am,” she insisted. “After everything that was going on for the last couple of years that brought me to this point. And don’t even start me on this FBI investigation…”
That’s when Steven abruptly took the conversation behind closed doors, though a hot mic picked up him apologizing for “going off” on her and demanding that intel about Steven Sr.’s legal issues “stay between” them.
“I got your back,” she repeated, before exiting his office.
Where Steven McBee Jr. and Galyna Saltkovska stand today
Though Steven Jr. described Galyna as “spiraling” amid his father and Masha’s new romance earlier in the episode, he still praised her job performance up until that point, nonetheless.
“Whenever she’s good, she’s a rockstar,” he told brother Jesse McBee, who agreed that they might need to fire Galyna. “And then whenever all she’s worried about is dad and Masha, it’s like you cannot break her out of, like, singular focus on dad.”
While there’s plenty more drama left to play out on the show, Steven Jr. recently updated The Daily Dish on the status of his relationship with Galyna today.
“I do know Galyna will always have my family’s best interest at heart,” he shared in the exclusive chat. “She is so loyal to everyone in my family.”
What’s more, Steven Jr. added, Galyna is a hard worker who takes on tasks that he and brothers Jesse and Cole McBee “would never want to touch.”
