McBee Dynasty Stars’ Romantic Woes & Legal Troubles Are Outrageous – Redemption Is Unlikely
McBee Dynasty Stars' Romantic Woes & Legal Troubles Are Outrageous – Redemption Is Unlikely
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys has always been a compelling reality show, but lately, one cast member is embroiled in scandals that are taking the drama to a new level.
Two of the show’s stars, Steven McBee Sr. and Steven McBee Jr., are dealing with, respectively, legal troubles and romantic problems that are almost operatic in scale. They’re living with life-changing issues, including a very long prison sentence.
The McBee Dynasty is like an unscripted version of Kevin Costner’s hit dramatic series, Yellowstone, which tracks the ups and downs of the Dutton family as its members try to protect their ranch from outside threats.
On The McBee Dynasty, the McBee family’s also faced with severe challenges, and one of the series’ stars, Steven McBee Sr., is really in hot water.
What’s Going On In Patriarch Steven McBee’s Life?
He Has Been Accused Of Crop Insurance Fraud
Steven Sr. may have done something very wrong, as he decided to enter a guilty plea after being charged with crop insurance fraud. This issue was so serious that he was missing from most of the recent McBee Dynasty season 2 premiere episode.
Since he’s facing a possible 30-year prison sentence for crop insurance fraud, he might not have the chance to redeem himself.
Behind bars, he’ll be out of the spotlight, unable to share his side of things onscreen.
Steven must be very frightened. Having that kind of issue looming in the distance would be emotionally traumatic for anyone. He has built a life, albeit a turbulent one, and he’ll need to give up a lot when he goes to prison.
There’s the ranch, his relationships and his freedom. His whole life is changing.
Many reality stars have traveled this brutal path. For example, Joe Giudice and his now-ex, Theresa Giudice, ended up in the slammer after being convicted of serious crimes: mail and wire fraud, tax fraud, and bankruptcy fraud.
Joe, who appeared on The Real Housewives of New Jersey with Theresa, was eventually deported to his native Italy.
Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City got a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence. Jen was part of a telemarketing scam aimed at senior citizens.
Reality stars are used to a certain standard of living, and when they have to relinquish fame in favor of Orange Is The New Black lifestyles, it must really sting. Since Steven faces such a long sentence, he’s probably having some dark nights of the soul.
So, what actually happened? How did he get into so much trouble? On September 9, he’ll receive his sentence – that was supposed to occur this month (July 2025) but it was postponed. He currently owes million of bucks to a government agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which he will need to repay.
He defrauded that agency for a couple of years, and his crimes are considered a Class B felony. The journey from famous rancher to convicted felon is not going to be much fun for Steven. He will need to dig deep to get through this phase of his life.
Possibly, his sentence will be lighter than expected. If it isn’t, maybe he’ll be able to get out early on parole. Nothing has been decided yet, so it’s hard to say what will happen to him. He was arrested for crimes in Missouri.
Steven McBee Jr.’s Relationship With Calah Anderson Seems To Be Over
Steven Doesn’t Think They’ll Reconcile
Calah and Steven are not together, according to him. Above, she poses alone, in a still from the latest McBee Dynasty season. She looks pensive but glamorous in a cowboy hat as she sits in a truck. Calah said that:
Filming this season was challenging for me- it pushed me to be vulnerable in ways I wasn’t expecting and to show up fully, even when it wasn’t easy. I’m so grateful I had this experience, and I can’t wait for y’all to watch and take this ride with me💫🤠 saddle up!
Steve doesn’t seem happy about their split, but he appears to have accepted it as final. During a July 10 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, he got real about his current relationship status with Calah. He said:
“I don’t think Calah and I are going to get back together. I think that door’s closed.”
While that news wasn’t good, he was looking ahead, and when asked about the possibility of dating another celebrity, he shared the fact that he was interested in Summer House icon, Paige DeSorbo. Since it doesn’t seem like there’s any chance that he won’t end up behind bars, he probably won’t be getting together with Paige anytime soon.

Steven has made a lot of mistakes, and his attitude seems to be fairly good in light of all that he’s going through. When he’s questioned about life and love, he appears honest.
Maybe he will try to redeem himself through interviews, or write a book about his experiences. Above, a teaser from the series shows drama galore, but there are always things that people don’t see onscreen.
These things could help people to understand him better. Why did he make bad decisions? How did he feel when things fell apart? In the celebrity world, a lot of famous people fumble. They end up in trouble and have regrets. Quite often, they are forgiven, although that kind of redemption is never guaranteed.
Steven Sr. still has a little time before his sentencing. However, he may not want to say too much. Before going to court, it’s better to stay quiet, as anything that leaks out may be used against him.
That being said, authorities must have a lot of evidence against him, and he admitted to his crimes. So, maybe, talking about how he feels wouldn’t have a negative impact on his sentence.
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys celebrity rose high, and now, he must deal with a downfall that is all too public. He will mature through his pain, seeing the world and himself differently. He may end up learning lessons that make it easier to find happiness in life.
Some reality stars change their lives radically in prison – Jorge Nava from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise is an example. He lost 133 pounds behind bars, changing his whole body. When he got out, he found a wife and built a family. Hopefully, The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys star Steven Sr. will have the same happy ending someday.
