5 Times Steven McBee Jr. Proved He’s Just Like His Father
5 Times Steven McBee Jr. Proved He’s Just Like His Father
The latest season of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys has proven that the old saying, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” is more than true, especially on the McBee family farm. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 2 is centered on the four McBee sons, because dad Steve McBee Sr. is awaiting sentencing on a massive crop insurance fraud scheme.
Out of all the sons, Steven McBee Jr. is showing signs that he’s the most like his dear old dad. For better or for worse, all four McBee boys have elements of their dad, but Steven Jr. is cut from exactly the same cloth as Steve Sr., down to the way they handle business, women, and finances.
Not only do Steve Sr. and Steven Jr. look remarkably alike, they have similar mannerisms as well. Steven Jr. has always wanted to make his dad proud, and it’s shaped him into the somewhat problematic man he is today.
After Kristi McBee and Steve Sr.’s marriage fell apart amid accusations that Steve Sr. was unfaithful with Galyna Saltkovska, the boys have had a hard time reconciling their father’s infidelities and their own future relationships. A single Steve Sr. just wants to have a good time, and he refuses to commit to anyone, including Galyna.
His boys, on the other hand, are in relationships, whether they’re exclusive or not. Steven Jr. has been in an off-on relationship with Calah Jackson. Cole’s girlfriend, Kaci Adkison, is pregnant, and Jesse proposed to Alli Ventresca during The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 1.
Still, Steve Sr. doesn’t have much respect for his son’s relationships.
Steve Sr. often takes the boys on “work trips” which consist of partying all day and night, often with other women. The McBee sons are torn between obeying their father or being in happy relationships.
Steven Jr. and Calah made their relationship official during The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 1. Steven Jr. made the gesture of adding a photo of him and Calah to his social media, which seemed to be enough to please Calah.
By season 2, however, their relationship is on the rocks again, this time due to Steven Jr.’s meddling with Calah and the rest of the women.
Steven Jr. Meddles In Calah’s Friendships
Steven And Calah’s Relationship Is Up And Down
Steven Jr.’s relationship with longtime girlfriend Calah is one way that Steven’s life mirrors his dad’s. They both clearly prefer blondes, as both Steve Sr.’s ex-wife (and mom to the boys) Kristi and girlfriend Galyna have hair like Calah.
Steven Jr. and Calah met on another reality show, Joe Millionaire, in 2022. Calah clashed with the McBee family on numerous occasions. She was accused of calling brothers Cole McBee and Jesse McBee “hillbilly f*cks” on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys season 2.
Calah denied the accusation, but the damage was done. She later found out that Steven Jr. had spread the word about what she said, which put her in a very uncomfortable position within the family.
For his part, Steve Sr. has been vocal about his dislike of Calah, which hasn’t helped her ingratiate herself to the family. Steve Sr. often gossips with his sons and his crew at work, and this often leads to conflict.
For their entire lives, the question of who would succeed Steve Sr. at the family business has been a constant. Steve Sr. said he’s not sure which of his boys would rise to the occasion, and this put pressure on the boys to compete for the job.
Their mom, Kristi, doesn’t agree with the way Steve Sr. is setting up the boys to fight with each other over business.
“Your dad pitted you guys against each other and created a lot of jealousy,” Kristi told Steven Jr.
As a result, the brothers are constantly picking on each other, questioning their work ethic, skills, and more. If one is late to a meeting, the others will make it an issue, and so on.
Steven Jr., as the eldest son, feels he is the rightful heir to the McBee Farm & Cattle Co. throne, but if his younger brothers have anything to say about it, they’ll have to contend with him.

Their Father Set Them Up To Compete

Steven Jr. Is Loyal To The Farm At The Expense Of Everything Else
Steven Jr. Said Family And Farm Come First
Steven Jr. has repeatedly said that despite how much he loves Calah, if she can’t play nice with his family, he’ll always choose the family and the farm over her. The McBee family’s loyalties lie at McBee Farm & Cattle Co., even if their dad left them in a bad financial position.
“I love Calah, but my loyalty lies with my family and on this farm and ranch, and that’ll never change until the day that I die.”
One of Steve Sr.’s major complaints with regard to Steven Jr. and Calah’s relationship is that she is too controlling. Steve Sr. complained that he can’t call Steven Jr. after 5 p.m. because Calah wants Steven Jr. to have more separation between work and his personal life.
Steve Sr. uses this as a way to manipulate Steven Jr., saying that if Steven Jr. and Calah are together, Steven Jr. could never be in charge. It’s also a way of subtly reminding Steven Jr. where his loyalties should lie.
Steven Jr. Uses Money To Solve His Problems
Steven Jr. Controls Girlfriend With Money
As the family’s boss and patriarch, Steven Sr. held the family’s purse strings, so to say. He was the man in charge, so things were done his way.
Steve Jr. is showing similar signs that he uses money to control certain situations.
Because the McBee family’s finances are all tied up in the family business, money is a hot button topic. During season 1, Calah shared with Kaci and Alli that Steven Jr. would sometimes send her thousands of dollars, just because.
This rubbed the other girls wrong, and led to stress with Steven Jr. and his brothers.
In another instance, after a break-up, Calah’s girlfriends urged her to move away from Gallatin, Missouri, and not let Steven Jr. help her financially. She agrees that letting him help her find a new place to live gives him too much power, yet later, she goes to Steven Jr. and asks him for help finding an apartment.
Steven Jr. knows she means help financially, and he agrees to do so. Steven Jr. most likely knows that helping Calah financially means he gets to stay in her life, and gives him some control.
